Ever Been To The Shire?

As the sun rose between the hills, its bright rays shone across every fibre of grass, greeting the blossoming array of flowers. My shadow blocks the light like a dark storm cloud, as I bend down to knock on the door of a fellow hobbits hill home. Knock knock. The door creaks. Creaaakkkk. A little hobbit pops his head out. No more than four foot tall, this hobbit peers his head up at me and says hello.

“Hey there gandalf, wasn’t expecting you today” he muffles as his belly sticks out beneath his shirt.

“Sorry, didn't mean to wake you up from your slumber.” I reply.

“ Don't be, I was just getting up” he says as he scratches his head and yawns.

“Well no rush, I will meet you back here later” I assure him.

The hobbit slowly closes his petite, yellow door.

As I look around I notice other little houses tucked in the hills. Some hobbits are dressed in overalls, shovel in hand, doing some garden work while others are cheerfully clinking beer jugs together, telling stories and jokes in their front yard. Wow. I'm lost for words as I take in all that's around me. I step into the grass as I grab a crisp, red apple from the tree above a little hobbit's home. I bite into the apple and can taste the freshness and love put into the fruit by the hobbits.

I stroll around finishing my apple, leaving just the core. I toss it into a field of grass that buries my knees. In the distance I see a small hobbit with a pitchfork in hand, yelling for no reason at all. That was until I realized I had stepped into the old hobbits farm. I backed away and pleaded, forgiveness. Arrrgh. The hobbit snarls. As I walk farther outwards I see forests and streams of water. As I approach the forest I hear birds chirping. Tweet, tweet! And chipmunks racing across the floor. I hear the crickets faintly in the back. Chirp….. I get to the stream and see the light bounce of the flow of water. “Marvelous!” I speak. I bend down and cup the water, refreshing my face with a splash. I sit and stare at nature's beauty. I see oak trees, birch, weeping willows, japanese maples and many more. As the day turns to night, I head back inland. Boom! I look up at the sky and a burst of fireworks light up the sky. A few more churn out and crowds goes wild with cheers!
