Romeo and Juliet run away and bump into the hobbits
( The curtain slowly opens and reveals a stage filled with tree’s, the sound of thunder can be heard, and the lights flicker on and off. The backdrop is filled with trees and a distant tower with a speck of orangy red at the top is barely visible. )
( Romeo rushes on stage from the left, with an exhausted look on his face, bruised and dirty, trouble breathing and hand on his chest. )
Romeo: Juliet, oh Juliet my love, where is it that we have stumbled?
( Juliet follows Romeo in, her dress is tattered and her face bruised as well, hair flowing freely)
Juliet: I don't know Romeo, I thought you knew where we were going! (thunder roars in the background)
Romeo: Ok let's just keep on forward until we find Milan!
( Sam and frodo run onto the stage from the right, exhausted and pale, with dirt all over themselves)
Sam Gamgee: This way Mr.Frodo! If we keep going north we can en- (Sam bumps into Romeo, they both fall to the ground)
Juliet: Romeo are you okay? What is it that you bumped into?
(Romeo rubs his forehead) Romeo: I don't know, maybe a tree stump?
Frodo Baggins: Sam! What happened? Are you okay? Here drink this! (Frodo shoves a drink down Sams Gamgee’s throat)
Sam Gamgee: (rubs his knee) ( GULP) I think I'm alright, thank you Frodo.( Sam sighs and gets up and brushes off the dirt)
Juliet: WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM US?( Juliet Screeches and Romeo gets up and stands beside Juliet)
Romeo: Back off ( Romeo pulls out his sword) you little,little… what are you?
Frodo Baggins: The name is Mr.Underhill and this here is my great friend Sam Gamgee and we're hobbits! (Sam Gamgee jumps in front of Frodo Baggins)
Sam Gamgee: And who are you? You're not from Mordor are you?( Romeo and Juliet look at each other)
Romeo and Juliet: Mordor?( together)
Juliet: No,no, we're from fine Verona!
Romeo: What do you want from us? And what are “hobbits”? ( he then plays with Sam Gamgee's face in curiosity)
Sam Gamgee: Get your grubby hands off me! Us hobbits are small folk, smaller than a Dwarf.
Frodo Baggins: And we don't want anything from you, We just got lost from our friends-(Sam Gamgee interrupts)
Sam Gamgee: Merry, Pippin and Aragorn!
Frodo Baggins: Have you seen them?
Romeo: We certainly have not seen any more hobbits around here, were just trying to make our way to Milan!
Frodo Baggins: Well, we best be off now we've got a little while to make it to Mount Doom, I can already see it!
Sam Gamgee: Your very right! Well,we will be gone now!
Juliet: It wouldn't hurt for a little adventure now would it Romeo?
Romeo: (looks at Juliet then looks back at Frodo Baggins) Where is it that you're headed?
Frodo Baggins: (Points to Mount Doom)
(Romeo and Juliet look at Mount Doom, then each other and then look back)
( The curtains slowly fall down and the lights dim )
